Renovating your house in the summer

    If you love changes, if you want your home to be modern every year, if you want to feel comfortable in it, you should make some renovations every so often. You do not have to pay much for this; all you need is just a little imagination and desire to change the look of it. In the summer, your home should be more colorful if you want to feel the summer atmosphere.

     It is June - we have already invited summer in our homes. As we hide our sweaters, we should hide the winter atmosphere of the room and make everything look fresh. This means that we should take off all the woolens, velvet, leather and pottery. This seasonal freshening of the interior is another kind of spring-cleaning - we release our home from all the superfluous things.

     Make your home more spacious and sunny during the summer! The place during the summer is great when it is a little “messy” and negligent. You should remove the carpets because the bare floor reflects the light better. Upholstered furniture is much fresher without fluffy blankets, sheets and piles of cushions in warm colors. The summer décor does not need heavy curtains, lamps with large colorful lampshades and fireplace accessories. It is a good idea to remove the paintings from the walls - thus you will refresh them and will protect them from the bright light that will make them fade. If you have a garden, it is not a bad idea to paint in light tones the garden chairs - one of the most important elements of garden furniture. There will possibly be a lot to throw away - the old dustbin can be replaced with a basket, knitted of rattan.

     An important decorative element in your home can be the baskets for flowers on the floor or hanging from the ceiling; these baskets can also be used for magazines, fruit and for other decorations. If you want to make this idea even more interesting, you can use rattan or raffia mats.

     As to the decoration for the walls, replace the heavy paintings and tapestries with photos in simple frames. A great “solar effect” has a child’s drawing. If you want, you can choose marine, tropical or floral theme.

     As to the material for the summer, you can use each that carries the spirit of freshness and light-glass, cotton, linen, silver. Put a collection of crystal figures on the shelves. The unpainted fabrics, especially cotton and linen, will make the natural beauty of your home to stand out.

     You can also cover the fireplace with a large mirror in front of it. The small accessories like vases and figures of porcelain will look quite spectacular. A good idea is to put a bowl with greenery and fresh flowers.
